SINGAPORE

 Exploring Singapore Singapore is a secular immigrant country. The main religions in Singapore are  Buddhism, Christianity, Islam, Taoism, and Hinduism . Respect for different religions and personal beliefs is heavily emphasised by the government. The opulent Marina Bay Sands,  a mall with a canal running through it, the  ArtScience Museum , and the  Marina Bay Sands Skypark Observation Deck –a vantage point for taking in the entire city.  From the Skypark, you can see the innovative  double helix bridge , the port, the  Gardens by the Bay.  Exploring China Present day Chinese culture is  an amalgamation of old world traditions and a westernized lifestyle . Chinese Religion, Philosophy and Politics: Confucianism, Taoism and Buddhism have left a collective and lasting impression on Chinese culture and tradition. The Great Wall of China is a series of fortifications that were built across the historical northern borders of ancient Chinese states and Imperial China as protection against various nomadic groups from the Eurasian Steppe. The  Summer Palace  is a vast ensemble of lakes, gardens and palaces in  Beijing . It was an imperial garden in the  Qing dynasty .   Exploring Vietnam Vietnamese culture was heavily influenced by Chinese culture due to the 1000 years of Northern rule.E lements considered to be characteristic of Vietnamese culture include  ancestor veneration , respect for community & family, manual labour and living in harmony with nature. Vietnam is a Southeast Asian country known for its beaches, rivers, Buddhist pagodas and bustling cities. Exploring Japan Two major religions influence Japanese traditions and culture:  Shintoism and Buddhism . Shintoism has been practiced in Japan for over 2,000 years. Shintoism has a lot to do with rituals, some Japanese may not feel it is a religion at all. The culture of Japan has changed greatly over the millennia. Tokyo, Japan’s busy capital, mixes the ultramodern and the traditional, from neon-lit skyscrapers to historic temples. The opulent Meiji Shinto Shrine is known for its towering gate and surrounding woods. Hiroshima, a modern city on Japan’s Honshu Island, was largely destroyed by an atomic bomb during World War II.  Exploring Sri Lanka Sri Lanka is a  land of great cultural diversity . Religion pervades many aspects of life and constitutes a basic element of this diversity. Buddhist and Hindu temples, as well as mosques and churches, with their own colorful  rituals, are the most readily visible features of the cultural landscape.
